Director of Operations: Ren Mefford
Ren Mefford is a restaurateur with over thirty years of industry experience. Over his career he has worked in every position from dishwasher to line cook to food and beverage director. Ren Spent fifteen years working for Omni hotels where he was a beverage manager and service trainer, as well as teaching classes on five diamond service and wine. Since leaving Omni, Ren’s properties have won Wine Spectator awards multiple times and have been featured in Southern Living magazine, Golf Digest and multiple other publications. In 2012 Ren, together with Chris Tsui, won an Elby for restaurateur of the year. Ren has successfully opened five restaurants and is currently working on three more projects. Ren has held the position of Director of Operations for EAT Restaurant Partners for seven years.
DIRECTOR OF MANAGEMENT AND TALENT ACQUISITION: MARTHA LOONEY
Human Resource Business Partner with 25 plus years in multiple-unit operations leadership positions with companies such as Starbucks Coffee and Brinker International. Martha combines this experience with her professional coaching background and entrepreneurial mind-set. Having fostered the development of numerous internal team members, Martha leads our Management Development and Talent Acquisition Department.
Director of Hospitality and Marketing: Chris Staples
A Richmond Native, after graduating from The University of Virginia he bounced around the restaurant industry across the country before returning to Richmond. After a three year sting with Firebirds he joined EAT Restaurant Partners in April of 2009. After running Wild Ginger and then opening The Blue Goat, Fat Dragon and Foo Dog Chris became a partner along side of owner, Chris Tsui and DOP, Ren Mefford. Together they are planning big things for RVA and he is excited about the future.
